1. Start with the catalogue

Open the character catalogue and read three or four profiles before choosing. Each card lists a vibe, an origin and a set of tags, and the full page explains how that character behaves in a long conversation. Picking well at this stage matters more than anything you do later.

2. Open with something specific

A first message like “hey” gets a polite answer. A first message like “I just finished a terrible week and I want to hear about your street” gets a conversation. The start form on every character page exists for exactly this: write your opening line there, and it travels with you into Idolchat ai.

3. Set the tone early

Ask directly. “Keep replies short tonight”, “be playful”, “no questions for a while” — all of these work. Characters in Idolchat ai adjust to the instruction and hold it for the rest of the session rather than reverting after two messages.

4. Use the story track

Any character can co-write with you. Say what kind of story you want and who you are inside it, then let them take the odd chapters. Because the thread is remembered, you can leave a story for a week and pick it up at the same scene.

5. Let details accumulate

Mention the name of your dog, the project you are stuck on, the trip you keep postponing. Those details come back later, which is what makes a long-running chat feel like a relationship rather than a series of resets.

6. Switch characters without guilt

Conversations are kept separate. Talking to a calm character on Monday does not change how a playful one behaves on Friday, so keeping two or three running in parallel is normal.

7. Start fresh when you want

If a conversation drifts somewhere you do not like, say so, or begin a new one. Nothing in Idolchat ai requires you to carry an old thread forward.
